ZetX is the first provider of law enforcement training to offer this certification to sworn professionals and crime analysts.
The certification process starts with an advanced 40 hour class, followed by three case study assignments over a six month period of time. This is a pass/fail class. Students will achieve Subject Matter Expert Certifications only upon successful completion of each assignment.

Ongoing case management and peer reviews are necessary to maintain the acquired certification.

The SME Certification is a coveted and challenging course, and is held bi-annually. The ZetX 40 Hour Basic Training is a pre-requisite to this course. Attendance exceptions are made only upon an interview with the lead instructor of the class.

The class syllabus includes, but is not limited to the following topics:

  • Radio frequency theory
  • Geolocation patterns and analysis
  • CDR case management
  • CDR investigative ethics and responsibility
  • Cellular Legal Standards
  • Court room testimony
  • Understanding peer review consensus
  • Court room presentations
  • CDR analysis

  • Laptop and mouse
  • Google Earth installed, understanding and experience
  • Microsoft Excel installed, understanding and experience
  • *Workbooks and thumb drives are provided for each student.
